Wilma Jean Martin, 84, of Suffolk,VA, went to be with the Lord August 14, 2011. A native of St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Jefferson Rose and Ethel Benson Rose. She is also predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Vernon F. Martin, Sr. She was a member of Cradock Methodist Church.

Jean is survived by five children and their spouses: Linda Hundley, Verna Martin, Vannessa Smith, Pamela and Bruce Stone, and Vernon Martin, Jr. and wife Angie; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one sister, Sandra Whitmore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434 with Rev. Jerry Greco and grandson Casey Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Wednesday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory.
