Obituary

William Tyler Moyer, 86, of Suffolk, VA passed away on January 22, 2010. A native of Luray, VA he was the son of the late Joseph Samuel Moyer and Virginia Herndon Moyer. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during World War II. William retired from Virginia Department Alcoholic Beverage Control as Assistant Director of Stores. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, in Richmond, VA; member of the American Legion Post #0022; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post621; Masonic Lodge #11; Scottish Rites Valley of Richmond Orient of VA; and ACCA Shriners of Richmond.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gale Getz Moyer; his son and daughter-in-law Jason T. Moyer and Linda M. Rose of Suffolk; two grandchildren , Justin Kyle Moyer of Richmond and Felicia Anne Rose of Suffolk.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Richmond, VA with Rev. Eric J. Moehring officiating. Burial will be Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 11:00 in Beamh's Chapel Cemetery in Luray, VA with Rev. Jeffery Marble officiating.
