William "Jimmy"
James Clark
December 12, 1958 – December 3, 2024
William James ("Jim") Clark of Windsor, VA left us on December 3, 2024. Jim was born in Wytheville, Virginia on December 12, 1958. For over 30 years, Jim owned and operated as a sole proprietor Jim's Distributing, which was a food, snack, and candy company serving the Tidewater and Hampton Roads region. Jim will be remembered for many reasons. In the 90s, he coached the champion-winning Suffolk Guzzlers adult men's softball team leading the team to multiple local and regional championships. He also coached an adult softball co-ed team during the same time named Main Street also having similar success. Jim also leaves behind the "Man-Powered Hunting Club" where for several decades hunted deer and wild game across the region. Jim's softball and hunting friends were always his second family, and he felt deep respect, love, and appreciation for every single person. During Jim's coming of age, Jim was a renowned baseball and football player in the Suffolk area winning many accolades and features in local newspapers. Jim will be most remembered for being a big guy with a big heart. Often, Jim would donate food and snack inventory to those of lesser means, and he always strived to live a life in which he did right by people and stood up for people operating on the belief that looking out for those who are most vulnerable and in need of a helping hand is the highest expression of faith and service to his community.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Wanda Byrum Clark; two sons, William Jonathan Clark (Martha) and Michael Justin Clark (Christina); four grandchildren, Ava Simone Clark, Liam Michael Clark, Aida Facenda, Luca Facenda; and his sister, Marla Barrett. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Ingeborg P. Barrett; father, Daniel J. Clark and stepfather, Theodore W. Barrett; and brother Daniel James "Danny" Clark.
