Dennis "Wild Bill" Clements
September 9, 1945 – February 13, 2021
William "Billy" Dennis Clements better known as "Wild Bill", passed away at home after a long-fought battle with cancer on February 13, 2021. He was born in Nansemond County, VA September 9, 1945 to the late Sallie Burns Clements and Nat Clements. Billy was pre-deceased by his brother, David Clements; children, Jaclyn D. Clements, William Dennis Clements Jr.; and granddaughter, Chelsey Clements Carter.
Billy is survived by his brother, Dan Clements; sister, Dolores "Dee Dee" Darden; daughters, Billie Jean Lotz and husband Darin, Samantha Clements and fiancé Adam, Kelly Whitehead and husband Kevin; son, Bernard Clements; grandchildren, Devin Peavy, a special granddaughter, Jordan Wilson, Kristopher Whitehead and Katelyn Whitehead.
Billy served his country in the Navy Construction Battalion completing two tours in Vietnam. After returning home, he worked for many years as a crane operator in Union Local 147. "Wild Bill", as he was better known, was a legend in his own right. He was a man who never met a stranger. He fought hard and lived even harder. He was a character that touched so many lives and this old world is a darker place without him.
Services will be private with burial at Woodland United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be registered online www.parrfuneralhome.com . Memorial donations in Billy's honor may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or to any charitable organization that supports Veterans.
