William Edward Darden, 83, of Carrsville, VA passed away on October 9, 2011. A native of Isle of Wight County, VA, he was the son of the late William Watkins Darden and Betsy Beale Darden. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Lillie Carr Darden; his son, Edward Talmadge Darden; his brother, George W. Darden and his sister, Betty Darden. Edward served his country by serving in the U. S. Army during World War II before beginning his 43 year career working for Union Camp as a Shipping Clerk. He was a member of Boaz Presbyterian Church and the Community Hunt Club.

He is survived by his step-mother, Mildred H. Darden; sister-in-law, Evelyn S. Darden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may join the family for a time of visitation on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 7 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Southampton Memorial Park with Rev. Tim Webb officiating.
