Wilbur Hewitt Morris, Jr., 88, passed away February 15, 2014. He was born in Gates County, NC the son of the late Judith Eure Morris and Wilbur H. Morris, Sr. He was predeceased by his brothers, Sheldon E. Morris and Robert Morris. Wilbur was a United States Navy veteran having served during WWII. He later went on to work and retire as a machinist for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and Norshipco. He was a member of Woodmen of the World 02 and the American Legion Post 57.

Wilbur is survived by his wife of 61 years, Norma Spivey Morris; children and their spouses, Robert "Bert" Morris (Robin), Rhonda M. Bowles (Bruce), Mark Morris (Sheila); grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly M. Clinton (Jeremy), Kimberly M. Hurley (Steve), Kaitlin L. Bowles (Judson Little - fiancé), Christina R. Morris, Olivia P. Morris; great grandchildren, Makenzie G. Clinton, Jackson K. Clinton, and Caroline E. Hurley; sisters, Mary M. Byrum and Lois M. Thompson.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Robert Carpenter officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery. Friends may join the family other times at the residence.
