Wesley Carrol Nickerson, 75, went to be with his Lord on March 25, 2016. He was born in Roanoke, VA to the late Wesley Wescott Nickerson and Annie Catherine Carrol Nickerson. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a military policeman during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired as an electrician from Norship Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Suffolk, VA and attended Sunday School. He was also a former Sunday School teacher at Southside Baptist and Great Fork Baptist Church.
Wesley is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Maryann Russell Nickerson; sons, David Lawrence Nickerson, Russell Allan Nickerson and wife, Shelly Jane, and Christopher Lynn Nickerson; grandchildren, Stephanie Alana Boles, Allison Quinn Boles, and Jared Wilson Boles; sister, Anne Nickerson Jones and husband, William; sister in law, Betty Gayle Russell; brother in law, Charlie W. Russell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Charles W. Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the residence.
