Walter Elton Daniel, 65, of Suffolk, VA passed away on February 24, 2012. A native of Suffolk, VA he was the son of the late Paul Elton and Eloise Acree Daniel. He retired from VDOT right of way department as a manager with 40 years of service. Walter was a member of Somerton Friends Meeting and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Diane Fulgham Daniel; sister, Marie D. Holland; sister-in-law and husband, Kathleen and Joe Arrowood; nephews and wives, Raiford and Rhonda Baker, Randy and Patsy Tew and Shane Arrowood all of Suffolk.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Somerton Friends Meeting with Revs. Amanda B. Smith, Charles Chappell and Clifton Whitlock officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family on Monday evening at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory from 7 – 8 p.m. for visitation and other times at 1441 Lummis Rd. Suffolk, VA 23434 home of Marie D. Holland. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4416 Expressway Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452, earmarked for Suffolk Relay for Life.
