Walter Yates Bryant, 79, of Suffolk, VA passed away March 22, 2017.  He was born in Nansemond County, VA to the late Marvin and Emily Tidwell Bryant.  He was also predeceased by his first wife, Betty Anne Knight Bryant, sister, Louise Mathias and brother, James Bryant. Walter worked as a farmer for many years.  He was a U.S. Marine veteran.  Walter was a former member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church and the Cypress Chapel Ruritan Club for 40 years. He also attended Southside Baptist Church.

Walter is survived by his wife Betty Ward Bryant; daughters and sons-in-law, Lori D. and Dennis Burke and Lisa K. and Thomas DePew;  grandchildren, Taylor DePew, Kellie Burke, Colton DePew, Casey Burke, Alison Burke; sisters and brother-in-law, Martha Racer and Mary Frances and Edward Duncan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Joyce Bryant and Charles and Barbara Bryant; and numerous nieces and nephews.
