W. Dan Harrell, 54, of Suffolk, VA passed away February 25, 2009. He was predeceased by his parents Sarah Ellis Harrell and Lonnie Whidbee Harrell, Jr.; and sister, Priscilla H. Arthur. He was a 1972 graduate of Forest Glen High School where he was class president and helped organize reunions over the years. He was a member of Holy Neck Christian Church and attended Somerton United Methodist Church.

Dan is survived by his devoted companion, Dorothy A. Howell of Suffolk, VA; daughters, Brandy Bridgers of Franklin, VA, Jaime L. Daughtrey and husband Jeremy of Suffolk, VA; sons, Mark Howell of Lynchburg, VA, Kevin Howell of Suffolk, VA; step daughters, Tara McCaw and Wanda Dickey both of Suffolk, VA; one grandchild on the way; brother-in-law, Leroy W. Arthur of Windsor, VA.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Becky Gwaltney officiating. Burial will follow in Holland Cemetery. Friends may join the family Friday evening from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
