Vonnie Byrd Davis, 76, of Suffolk, VA, passed away January 12, 2011. She was born in North Carolina, the daughter of the late Golla Harrell Byrd and Malon Byrd. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Jeremiah Davis, and son, Johnnie Ray Byrd. Vonnie retired from the Econolodge. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was an avid softball player.

Vonnie is survived by four sons, Jerry "Tommy" Davis and wife Lois of Franklin, Kenneth Wayne Davis and wife Tammy of Hampton, Gerald Payne Davis and wife Robin of Suffolk, and Jerry Lee Davis and wife Sadie of Littleton, NC;16 grandchildren, Sandra, Jenny, Jessica, Kevin, Ashley, Matt, Hollie, Stacye, Tony, Devon, Tammaro, Jasmine, Ronnie, Gene, Kinedra, Tiffany; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Smith of Rich Square, NC and Ameret Warren of Murfreesboro, NC.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory 3515 Robs Dr. Suffolk, VA, with Rev. T.A. Powell and Rev. Morris Allmond Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Friday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
