Virginia "Ginny" Sheppard, long time resident of Ocean View, died April 17, 2024 at the age of 97, joining husband Bill who died 3 years ago.  Born in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia to Agnes and Joseph Frock, one of 14 children.  She married Bill in 1946, living the Navy wife life in Norfolk while Bill was at sea.

Ginny was active in Ocean View Baptist Church, the Garden Club and Ocean View Elementary.  She was an avid seamstress, a great cook and gardener.   She and Bill loved to make apple butter in Berkeley Springs, feeding and entertaining everyone.  She also babysat two granddaughters and then three great grandkids.  Later, she worked as a housemother at DePaul School of Nursing, a job she really loved.

Ginny is survived by daughters, Cindy Frierdich (Michael) and Cathy Gumtow, grandchildren, Michelle Shea (Chris), Jenny Andrus (Chad), William Gumtow, and Rebecca Cone (Kevin); 5 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Per Ginny's request there will be no services.
