Virginia Drake Satterfield, 91, of Chesapeake, Va. went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2007. She was born and spent her childhood in Boykins. Virginia. She was a loving wife and mother. She was a member of Jackson Memorial Church and Living Waters Church. She was the wife of the late Howard J. Satterfield. She was the daughter of the late Hugh Kelly and Annie Drake. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mabel Wilkins and a brother, William Drake, a son John Wayne Satterfield and grandson Joseph Dean Satterfield.

She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Thompson of Suffolk, Judith Garner and son-in-law Clarence "Booty" Garner of Chesapeake; grandsons, George, Colt, Bee Gee Garner; Diane Ashley and Barry Harris of Suffolk; grandson, David Ashley; granddaughter Carrie McDonald; and Elizabeth Coltrain of Chesapeake; grandson, Josh Martin; granddaughter, Heather Foutch; son Joe and Sue Satterfield of Suffolk; granddaughter Amy Hayden; son's children of the late John Wayne Satterfield, grandsons, Brian Satterfield, Tommy Satterfield, granddaughter, Chrissy Riley; ten great grand children; survived by nieces, Audrey Beck, Lillian Vallejo, Frances Smith, Katherine Jenkins; survived by nephews, Burton Holland, Ray Holland, Roy Drake. She will be missed by friends and family.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 15, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk with Pastor Genesis L. Marcum officiating. Interment will be held at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Condolences may also be registered at www.parrfuneralhome.com
