Virginia Dare Richardson Day, 83, of Suffolk, VA passed away March 27, 2015. She was born in Stokes County, NC to the late Zettie Dunlap Richardson and Walter Jones Richardson. She was also predeceased by her sister, Frances R. Hicks, and brother, W. Jake Richardson. Virginia worked for many years as a nurse at Obici Hospital and upon retirement continued working as a nurse at Western Tidewater Community Services Board. She was a longtime member of Wilroy Baptist Church, active member of the Naomi Sunday School Class, and served on numerous committees, taught children's Sunday school, and worked in missions.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Michelle Day Byers and husband, Craig; sons, W. Michael Day and wife, Betsy and Jeffrey L. Day, Sr. and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Heather Day Rahnert and husband, Paul, Crystal Day Fisher, Jeffrey Day, Jr. and wife, Kim, C. Dean Day and wife Heather, Ashley Duck, Jason Duck, Jr. and wife, Jessica, Alyssa Byers Day and husband, Jeff, Ashley Byers, Kristin Byers, and Kara Byers; great grandchildren, Ian, Austin, Chase, Erynn, Kellan, Hayden, Madelyn, Addison, Ava, Ella, Randy, Kasey, and Colby; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Wilroy Baptist Church with Rev. Timothy Rawls and Dr. Robert Carpenter officiating. Burial will at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory.
