Violet Irene Bradford, 85, of Virginia Beach, VA passed away March 6, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Eleanor and Thomas Meeks. Violet retired after many years from the Naval Supply Center. She loved camping, dancing, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren play tennis.


Violet is survived by her husband of 56 years, Melvin E. Bradford; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Legare Grover; grandchildren, Michelle Wood and husband James Wood, Nathaniel Grover, and Barton Grover; great grandchild, Alexandra Wood; daughter Sheryl Strombos; and sister, Francis Reagan.

A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 11 a.m., at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd., Suffolk, VA 23434 with Pastor Brent Hobbs officiating. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
