Victoria May Cockburn Stone, 64, of Suffolk, VA passed away February 21, 2010. She grew up in Argentina, the daughter of missionaries and spoke fluent Spanish. She later went on to earn her B.S. from Campbell College with honors and work as a dietician for MCV. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Vicki is predeceased by her mother, Violet Cockburn; brother, John Cockburn; and father-in-law, Leonard R. Stone, Sr.
Vicki was a devoted wife of 43 years, mother, and much loved daughter-in-law. She is survived by her husband, Leonard R. Stone, Jr.; daughter, Virginia May Stone; son, Leonard Ray Stone, III all of Suffolk, VA; father, Dr. Samuel Herbert Cockburn of Winston Salem, NC; sisters, Margaret Leonituk of Canada, Edna V. Green of Winston Salem, NC; mother-in-law, Leila B. Stone of Suffolk, VA.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Charles Thompson officiating. Friends may join the family Tuesday night from 7-8 p.m. at the residence of Leila B. Stone. Parr Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
