Vertie Leora Mosley Wood, 91, of Suffolk, VA passed away on June 4, 2008. A native of Pennington Gap, VA, she was the daughter of the late James Mosley and Ella Vencill Mosley. She was also predeceased by her husband, Clark Robert Wood and a grandson, Kevin C. Blanchard. She retired after serving 30 years as Department Manager of Sears and Roebuck and was a member of the Sears Retiree Club.

Vertie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Patty Wood Blanchard and Charlie of Suffolk, VA; a son and daughter-in-law James O. Wood and Cathy of Plainville, MA; five grandchildren, Theresa, Charlie, James, Jarred and Jessica; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Pearl Smith Harber of Pennington Gap, VA.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA with the Dr. Bryan J. Ray officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may join the family on Thursday evening, from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home for visitation.
