Obituary

Tommie Morris Riddick, 76, passed away June 6, 2017. He was born in Trotville, NC, the son of the late James Otha Riddick and Dinah Mildred Morris Riddick. He was predeceased by his brother, James Robert Riddick; brother in law, Willie H. Barnes, Sr.; nephew, Willie H. Barnes, Jr.  Tommie retired from sales and service at Nansemond Tractor, Inc. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School class. He served as a deacon and usher and was always at the door handing out bulletins with a big smile. He was a friend to many and continued to plant a large garden to share.

Tommie is survived by his cherished wife of 46 years, Linda Walker Riddick; much loved daughter and son in law, Rebecca Hope Riddick Knight and Christopher Knight; 10 year old grandson who gave joy to his heart everyday, Tyler Tristen Knight; caring sister, Betty Rea Barnes; sister in law, Maryann White Riddick, numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. J. C. Kimmer officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Friday night from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorial donations may be made to Southside Baptist Church Building Fund.
