Thomas "Tom" Kline Griffin, 75, passed away on June 27, 2022 at his residence with his children by his side. He was born on April 25, 1947 in Suffolk, VA the son of the late Arthur Kline Griffin and Sara Alice Saunders Griffin. He was predeceased by his daughter, Virginia Dawn Griffin and brother, William Greg Griffin.

Tom graduated from Holland High School in 1965 and attended Chowan College before serving 6 years in the Army Reserves. He then went on to work and retired after 43 years as an Engineer for Verizon. He was a member of Westhaven Baptist Church and formerly served as a Deacon at Bethlehem Christian Church.

Tom was an amazing father, grandfather (known to his grandkids as "Pops") and a loving friend. He loved to laugh and tell stories and had a witty sense of humor. He was a very giving and selfless person and a true southern gentleman. He enjoyed traveling, dancing, fishing, gardening, dining out and trying new restaurants. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and close friends.

Tom is survived by his daughters, Whitney G. Griffin, Abby G. Moore (Justin); sons, Jeremy K. Griffin and Andrew T. Griffin (Lindsay); grandchildren, Mackenzie, Memphis, Jakob, Ava, Adilyn and Willow; brothers, David Griffin (Karen) and Wayne Griffin and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the team at Duke Hospital, Dr. Christopher Hoimes and Elizabeth Fricklas and a very special thank you to Hannah, Katie and Valencia with Kindred Hospice as well as his caregiver, Doris for the excellent care that he received.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday July 9, 2022 at 3 pm at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Larry A. Anderson officiating. A time of visitation will follow the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters or any Humane Society.
