Thomas Kent Hisaw, 86, a proud United States Air Force veteran, devoted husband, father, and brother, passed away on January 14, 2026. Throughout his life, he was known for his strength, dedication, and unwavering commitment to his family and his country.
Thomas served honorably in the United States Air Force, where he earned his bachelor's degree and graduated from St. Leo College. He built a career marked by discipline and pride. After retiring from military service, he continued his work through Civil Service, carrying the same work ethic and integrity into every role he held. In his younger years, he enjoyed driving the pace car at Langley Speedway, a pastime that brought him joy and connected him to the local community. Later in life, he continued to stay involved and cherished the memories he made there.
Thomas is survived by his children, James Hisaw, Michael Rodgers, Bobby Geiter, Shannon Deaton, and Robin Gardner; his brother, Neal Hisaw; several grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mattie Hisaw; his daughters, Cindy Hisaw and Penny Richards; his parents, Ira Lee Hisaw and Hattie Hisaw; and his siblings Ira (Jr.), Larry, Herbert, Perry, Ethel, Minnie, Loreen, and Myrt.
Thomas leaves behind a legacy of service, hard work, and deep love for his family. He will be remembered for his dedication, his quiet strength, and the impact he made on everyone who knew him.
A private service for family will be held in his honor. Thomas will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, where he will receive the dignity and respect befitting his service to his country.
