Theodore "T.M."
Mcarthur Hardison
March 12, 1942 – October 7, 2022
Theodore "T.M." McArthur Hardison, 80, passed away October 7, 2022. He was born in Wayne County, NC, the son of the late Jimmie Hardison and Gertrude Best Hardison. He was predeceased by his sister, Jean H. Pierce and brother, Carol Hardison. Theodore retired after 43 years as a Construction Superintendent at the Newport News Shipyard. He later went on to work as a consultant for R. Brooks and Associates. Most recently, he served as a marriage commissioner for the Isle of Wight Wedding Chapel. Theodore was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church for many years where he served as a deacon. He is a member of Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church. Theodore actively served his community through his memberships in the Khedive Shrine Club, Purdie Masonic Lodge #170 for over 50 years, the Carrsville Ruritan Club, and the Zuni Ruritan Club. While a member of the Zuni Ruritan Club, he served in the following capacities: Zone 5 Lt. Governor; Zone 5 Governor; Co-Chair District Convention; Lt. District Governor; District Governor; National Foundation Trustee; and National Foundation President. He served as president of the Zuni Ruritan Club and chair of the Scholarship Committee. Additionally, he coached little league baseball in Windsor for numerous years.
Theodore is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janice Hardison; sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip M. Hardison (Shannon) and R. Curtis Hardison, Sr. (Kris Ann); grandchildren, Phillip Austin Hardison and Robert Curtis Hardison, Jr.; sister, Frances Wiggs; brother and sister-in-law, Donald Curtis Hardison (Faye); and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the following special people: David Trimble, his "go-to man" in Arrowhead Beach; Kathy Bass, his special therapist at home and at the office; Theodore's community of golf cart friends in Arrowhead Beach; and all of his many doctors.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Ruffin Alphin and Rev. John Bonk officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow at Windsor Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home. A reception will follow at Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church in Suffolk after the service. Memorial donations may be made to Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church or to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
