Thelma Lou
Warren Lane
May 25, 1953 – May 12, 2025
Thelma Lou Warren Lane, 71, passed away on May 12, 2025. She was born in Ahoskie, NC to the late Mary Catherine Vaughan and Lacy Mack Warren. She is also predeceased by her husband, Herbert Bruce Lane. Thelma worked many years as a custodian and retired from the Suffolk Public School System. She loved God and her family with her whole heart and sacrificed and gave of herself unselfishly in everything she did all her life. She started her career by volunteering first at all the schools her children went to and then soon began as a substitute Custodian before becoming a full-time employee at several different schools in the system. She had a beautiful sense of humor and an even more beautiful smile. She was the true definition of a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, aunt, exceptional sister and friend to so many. She loved butterflies and hummingbirds but more than that, her granddaughter was the apple of her eye, and she was elated to be able to see her graduate early at the age of 15. She enjoyed going fishing with the love of her life as often as possible. And you wouldn't ever see one without the other. Now after 15 years, they have been reunited.
Thelma is survived by her daughter, Kim Taylor (Brian); son, Joey Lane (Carol Ann Hirsch); granddaughter, Reagan Taylor; sisters, Carolyn Arrington, Judy Roberson (Stoney), and Mary Ann Warren; and brothers, Lacy Mack Warren Jr, Ken Warren (Melissa), and Charles Warren (Stacy).
Thelma's funeral service will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Great Fork Baptist Church with Pastor Matthew Parron officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service in the church's cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Free Will Baptist Children's Home, P.O. Box 249, Middlesex, NC 27557. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
