Thelma Elaine Turner Copeland, 91, passed away July 15, 2013. She was born in Nansemond County, VA the daughter of the late James Alonza Turner and Nancy Baker Turner. She was predeceased by her brother, Ray Randolph Turner, Sr. Thelma retired from Brewer Jewelry Company. She was a member of Suffolk Christian Church and the West Memorial Bible Class.

Thelma is survived by her husband of 73 years, Randolph "Plutie" Turner Copeland; daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy C. and Mel Hemphill, Linda C. and John Fletcher; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Mary Ellen Copeland; grandchildren, Terry Lewis, Christopher Fletcher, and Sarah Kaitlyn Fletcher; great grandchild, Michael Lewis; sister, Rose Jory; and brother, Joel Turner.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Suffolk Christian Church with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Following the service a reception will be held in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be private at a later date at Holly Lawn Cemetery.
