Obituary

It's with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terry Diana Greskevitch, 76, a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished Gigi, and faithful servant of the Lord. She departed this life peacefully on August 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Terry lived a life full of joy, purpose, and love. She met the love of her life, Tom, at the age of 16, and from that moment, they shared a bond like no other. They had a beautiful marriage, filled with adventure, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Together, they traveled the world, exploring over 50 countries alongside their dearest friends, Lorna and Gene Crawley. They built a lifetime of treasured memories that will live on through stories and photographs.

A woman of abiding faith, Terry was a dedicated, longstanding member of First Baptist Church in Suffolk, VA. She generously gave her time to her church community, serving on various committees, welcoming new members, and organizing events, with grace and commitment. She found strength and guidance in her relationship with the Lord, even rededicating her life to Him in 2016, when she and her husband were baptized in the Jordan River. Her love for God was evident in the way she treated others—with compassion and generosity. She had a special fondness for the members of her Sunday school class and the ladies in her BSF Bible Study. She was a true friend to many and a comforting presence in the lives of all who knew her.

Terry had an appreciation for beauty, which she expressed through the flowers she tended in her garden. A proud and active member of the Pitchkettle Point Garden Club, she found enjoyment in creating extraordinary arrangements. She also nurtured the people around her with unforgettable meals; her passion for cooking went beyond recipes. To those who knew her, her cooking was more than a skill; for her, it was a gift she shared with everyone around her.

Terry was born in Charleston, SC, in 1949, moving to Norfolk, VA, at the age of 15. After graduating from Norview High School, she worked as an Administrative Assistant at Obici Hospital for 35 years.

Terry leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and friendship. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Tom; her two devoted daughters, Leslie Dufault (Kyle), and Lauren Alphin (Chris); three rambunctious grandchildren, Graycen Dufault, Thomas Alphin and Hudson Alphin; three sisters, Leslie Overstreet (Dwight), Christine Denson (David), and Elizabeth Place (Jeff); nieces, nephews, countless relatives, friends, and her dear caregiver, Mrs. Barbara. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and James Bensten.

Terry will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her gentle spirit, radiant smile, and the light she brought to every room she entered. While we grieve her passing, we'll carry her with us in every cherished recipe, every family gathering, and every loving memory. We find comfort knowing she is rejoicing in the presence of the Lord and that one day we will be reunited with her in Heaven.
