Tanya Lynn Gust, born September 29, 1955, in Maryland, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026, in Suffolk, Virginia, at the age of 71.

A proud alumnus of Purdue University, Tanya graduated third in her class, exemplifying dedication and excellence. She devoted much of her professional life to caring for others as a nurse at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Virginia.

Tanya was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Eugene and Jackie Brooks, and her cherished son, Samuel Gust. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Frederick Gust; her sons, Brooks Gust (Laurie) and Jake Gust (Clarissa); her granddaughter, Briana Gust; and her grandson, Jacoby Gust.

A proud servant of the Lord, Tanya and her husband joyfully led the youth group at their church in Windsor, Virginia, nurturing the faith and lives of many young souls.

Services for Tanya will be held privately. Arrangements are entrusted to Parr Funeral Home & Crematory in Suffolk, Virginia.

Tanya Lynn Gust’s memory will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
