Sylvia Ann York, 70, of Suffolk, VA passed away on January 5, 2013. Born in Portsmouth, VA, she was the daughter of the late William Bell Tolson and Flora Belle Tolson. She was also predeceased by her brother James L. Tolson. She was a retired Supervisor with Wal-Mart. Her religious belief was Baptist.


Sylvia is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ken P. York; daughter and son-in-law Estelita and Danny Buie all of Suffolk, VA; sons and daughter-in-law Steven and Barbara York of Portsmouth, VA and William T. York of Suffolk, VA; three grandchildren Daniel, Ryan, Ashley; a sister Diane Ulmer and brother Richard M. Tolson.


A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11:00 am at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Keith Lewis presiding. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Suffolk,VA. Visitation will be Wednesday night from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory.
