Syble Lorraine Alphin, 91, of Norfolk, VA, passed away May 7, 2011. A native of Cape Charles, VA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Syble Bateman. Syble was also predeceased by her husband, Johnnie V. Alphin, and son, Buster Alphin. She was a member of Ocean View Baptist Church. She was also a life member of VFW post 3160 and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary.

Syble is survived by her two daughters, Deloris Ann Stanton, of Williamsburg and Mary Alice Lawson of Norfolk, son and daughter-in-law, James and Linda Alphin of Farmville, VA, 9 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Monday, May 9, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby St., Norfolk, VA, 23505. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com
