Obituary

Annie Sue Mansfield Crocker, affectionately known as Sue, was born on April 11, 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lofton Mansfield and Elsie Mae Stubbs (Tom), her beloved daughter, Carol Anne Crocker Suits, and her sister, Georgie Casper (Joe).

Sue was deeply devoted to her family and leaves behind a rich legacy of love. She is survived by her sweetheart and husband of 58 years, Marvin A. Crocker, Jr.; her son, Michael A. Crocker (Sandra); four grandchildren, Courtney (Jerad), Amber, Addy, and Blaze; and three great-grandchildren, Jensen, Layla, and Sadie. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Jason Suits; her brother, Murray Francis Mansfield (Charlotte); her aunt, Hilda Mansfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sue is further survived by her in-laws, Evelyn Barlow, Pauline Austin, and Ann & Jim Litten.

Born and raised in Suffolk, Virginia, Sue was kind, tenderhearted, and faithful throughout her life. She was a graduate of Whaleyville High School and a former member of First Baptist Church of Suffolk. Her professional career included employment with telephone companies,  banks, and insurance companies.

Sue was a devoted Christian woman and an active member of Central Hill Baptist Church, where she faithfully served in many capacities. She taught children's, youth, and adult Sunday School classes, served on church committees, and was entrusted as church treasurer for several years. She also volunteered for many years at Isle of Wight Academy while her children were in school.

Beyond the church, Sue was active in her community, serving on the Town of Windsor Beautification Committee and as a former member of the Windsor Women's Club. She enjoyed an active life, spending treasured time with her family, gardening, canning vegetables, keeping her home, reading, and collecting dolls.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, cards, visits, and compassionate care provided by Karla Stiles, Windsor Emergency Services, Lake Prince Woods, Commonwealth Senior Living (Churchland House), Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, and Trinity Hospice.

Sue's funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Central Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Evans and Pastor Mike Crocker officiating. Burial will follow in the church's cemetery.
