Steve Michael Rawls, 61, passed away on August 25, 2024. He was born in Nansemond Co, VA to the late Dorothy Vann and Clyde Wilson Rawls. He is also predeceased by his brother, Wilson Lee Rawls. Steve was a devoted employee of the Virginia Department of Transportation for over 40 years. Steve was a lifetime member of Desert Road Hunt Club and enjoyed anything outdoors. He loved spending time with his friends and family which was always accompanied by endless story telling and sometimes dancing.

Steve is survived by his daughters, Calee and Gaby Rawls; sister and brother in law, Carolyn and Dave Merinar; brothers and sisters in law, David and Kathy Rawls, and Reginald and Lisa Rawls; 10 nieces and nephews (with Wesley regarded as the favorite); and special friend, Theresa Richardson.

Steve's funeral service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Cypress Chapel Christian Church with Pastor Jim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at the church's cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 pm, Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Cypress Chapel Christian Church.
