Stephen Albert Laine, 50, of Suffolk, VA passed away December 13, 2011. He was born in Norfolk, VA the son of Anita Baker Laine and the late James Cobb Laine, Sr. He was a 1979 graduate of Nansemond Suffolk Academy and 1983 graduate of James Madison University. He worked in sales and was active in his children's lives coaching for various baseball, basketball, and football teams.

Stephen is survived by his mother; daughter, Stephanie Laine; sons, Jacob Laine both of Suffolk, Andrew Thomas Nash and wife, Chelsea of Chesapeake; grandchildren, Emily and Kaleb Nash; sisters, Lisa Laine Facenda (Jeff), Holly Laine Saunders (William) both of Suffolk; brother, James Cobb Laine, Jr. (Sally) of Charleston, WVA; aunt, Gail Baker Taylor (Vernon); 1 niece and 3 nephews.

A graveside service will be held Monday, December 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Woodland United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Friends may join the family Sunday for visitation from 3-5 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA.
