Shirley J. Holland went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 6, 2011. She was born on November 17, 1940 in Dendron, VA to the late Hildra and Jessie Johnson. As a devout Christian and dedicated mother, Shirley devoted her life to serving God, her family, and friends.

She is survived by her eight children and their respective spouses: Donna Skinner, Jeffrey Holland, Tammy Caviness, Cynthia Stallings, Julie Morris, Matthew Holland, Jennie Tillery, Paul Holland, and their father, Elvin R. Holland. In her life she was blessed with fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A family night and viewing will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011 from 7 to 8 pm at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr. Suffolk, VA 23434. A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 11 am at Wilroy Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles W. Thompson officiating.
