Shirley Mae Holt Spivey, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior just a few days shy of her 85th birthday, on April 7, 2026.  She was born in Southampton County, VA the daughter of the late Dorothy Marie Holt Hand.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years, Marvin "Sonny" David Spivey.  Shirley worked for over 30 years at the Village Drug Store and then went on to work 12 additional years at the Roses in Churchland.  She loved going to the beach, eating seafood, and chuckwagons from Owens.  In her free time, she enjoyed making flower arrangements. Her favorite thing to do was spending time with her family and cookouts on the farm.  She had the biggest heart and was such a giving person.

Shirley is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Robert Johnson, Sharon and Clay Howell; grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica and Tony Slaba, Michael and Stephanie Snead, and Lauren Howell; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Caroline, Hayslee, Elizabeth, and Alaina; and numerous cousins that she loved dearly.

A funeral service will be held Friday, April 10, 2026 at 3 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Steve Bellavia officiating.  Burial will private at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service from 2 - 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
