Sara Saunders Griffin, 97, passed away peacefully August 22, 2022.  She was born in Isle of Wight County, VA the daughter of the late Leonidas W. and Donna K. Saunders.  She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Arthur Kline Griffin; sons, Thomas Kline Griffin and William "Greg" Griffin; granddaughter, Virginia Dawn Griffin; and brother, Billy Saunders.  Sara worked for the City of Suffolk Public School System.  She was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church.

Sara is survived by her sons, David Griffin (Karen) and Wayne Griffin; grandchildren, Jeremy, Whitney, Abby, Andie, William, Morriss, Kelly, Kendall, and Martha Ann; 10 great grandchildren; and nephew, Johnny Saunders.
