Sara Cathern Alexander, 59, of Emporia, VA passed away August 28, 2010. She was born in Suffolk, VA the daughter of the late Sara Umphlett Harrell and Matthew Hayes Harrell. She worked as an office manager for Emporia Welding Supply.

Sara is survived by her fiancé, Floyd Miller of Emporia; and her daughter, Shea Alexander of Suffolk.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA 23434 with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family Monday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
