Samuel Gray Crowder's Obituary
Samuel Gray Crowder, 94, passed away at his residence on Sunday, January 31, 2021. He was born to the late James Alexander and Sarah Jane Roberts Crowder in South Hill, VA. He is predeceased by his wife, Alice L. Crowder; son, Richard Crowder; and his eight siblings. He served in the US Army during World War II. He later went to work for Sheller-Globe Corp. for 39 years, retiring as foreman of the Splitting Dept. He was a lifetime member of the Triangle Hunt Club.
Sam is survived by his son, Bobby G. Crowder (Rebecca); daughter, Linda C. Lareau (Mark); grandchildren, Neal G. and Ryan M. Crowder and Landon M. Schroder; great grandchildren, Phoebe, Calvin, and Hailey; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sam's graveside service will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia or Union Mission.
