Sallie H. White, 84, of Ivor, VA went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009. She was born in Isle of Wight County, VA the daughter of the late John Benton Harris and Kitty Crocker Harris. She was also predeceased by her husband, Rossie White, sister, Mary H. White, brothers, John Raymond Harris and Morris Benton Harris. She was a faithful caregiver having always cared for her family and volunteering at local nursing homes. Sallie was the longest member in attendance at Mill Swamp Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Adult Class and Women on Missions. She also enjoyed being a part of Windsor's Young at Heart Club.

Sallie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Gordon Nelson, Jr. and Sandra of Ivor, VA; grandchildren, Lisa Nelson Jones and husband, Douglas, Thomas Gordon Nelson, III and wife, Melanie; great grandchild, Caroline Grace Nelson; sister, Ethel H. Peden; a host of nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Mill Swamp Baptist Church with Rev. James Jones and Rev. Billy Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family Tuesday night at the church from 6-8 p.m. for a time of visitation and other times at the residence of Gordon and Sandra Nelson.
