Ruth Marie Johnson Vann, 70, passed away May 16, 2011. She was born in Nansemond County the daughter of the late Naomia Smith Johnson and Howard Grady Johnson. She was predeceased by her husband, Willie Clyde Vann, Sr. and was a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church.

Ruth is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Robert C. Talton, Sr. "Snook" of Suffolk, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Willie Clyde Vann, Jr. and Twinkle Vann of Eure, NC; grandchildren, Crystal, R.C., Walter, and Katelyn; great grandchild, Hunter Lee Vann; brothers, Howard Grady Johnson o f Portsmouth, VA, Billy Johnson of Savannah, GA, and L.D. Johnson of Portsmouth, VA.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Cypress Chapel Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Willis I. Dowling officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family Friday night for a time of visitation from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.
