Ruby Ava Nelms, 79, passed way on May 23, 2007. A native of Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Phenious David Nelms and Emma Pruden Nelms. She was also predeceased by two brothers, R. C. and David W. Nelms.

Ruby retired as a Supervisor of Fairmont Snacks and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was devoted to her pets and a lover of all animals.

She is survived by her brothers: Fred L. Nelms and Ray H. Nelms of Suffolk; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home, with Chaplain Jim Rushing officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Condolences may also be registered at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
