Obituary

Rosalie Early Harmon Marsh, age 93, of Wilson, NC formerly of Suffolk, Va. passed away September 9, 2006 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC after a short illness. She was the daughter of Levenia Evans Early and Alphonso James Early of Bertie County, NC.

She was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church in Suffolk, Va. and attended First Baptist Church while living in Wilson, NC.

She is survived by three sons, Ramon A. Harmon of Ahoskie, NC, William Sidney Harmon (Anna) of Wilson, NC, Robert Malcolm Harmon (Brenda) of Suffolk, Va. and step-daughter Waudell Marsh Strickley of Grand Prairie, Texas. sixteen grandchildren: Tami Harmon Wiggs (David) and Brian Harmon of Wilson, Tasha Harmon Weatherington (Kenny) of New Bern,NC, Christopher Harmon of Boston, Mass, Michael Harmon (Katie) of Yulee, Fla., Gregory Harmon of Ahoskie, Thomas Harmon of Portsmouth, Va., Bonita Strickley Vorderkonz (Ricky) and Debbie Strickley Browning (Mark) of Edgewood, Texas, Karen Strickley Blocker of Cedar Hill, Texas, Tim Strickley of Irving, Texas, David Strickley (Krista) and Mike Strickley (Sheri) of Grand Prairie, Texas, John Dixon (Mary Beth) of Richmond, Va., William Dixon of Arlington, Va., and Joanne Dixon of Madrid, Spain; fourteen great grandchildren; one brother, Carlton Early (Mae), one sister, Doris Early Cowan (James); three sister's in law, Janie Early, Ruby Early and Mary Kathryn Early and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Raymond Harmon of Bertie County, NC and Henry J. Marsh of Suffolk, Va.; one granddaughter, Anna Courtney Harmon; five brothers, Clarence, Edward, Al, Melvin and Vernon Early; one sister, Mable Early; and step daughter, Lauretta Marsh Dixon and husband Bill.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday September 12, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk Va. with Rev. John F. Shappell and Rev. E. Clifton Whitlock officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home, 447 W. Washington St., Suffolk, Va.
