Ronald Albert "Ron" Thompson, age 83, of Carrsville (Walters), Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2026. Born on November 20, 1942, in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, Ron lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and simple pleasures.

Ron began his career as a supervisor and warehouseman at St. Julian's Creek Warehouse in Portsmouth, Virginia. Over the years, he expanded his expertise working as a nuclear outage worker, mechanic, and valve technician at various nuclear power plants throughout the states. Later, he also contributed his skills at Dewitt's Automotive Center in Windsor, Virginia.

Outside of work, Ron found joy in hunting, fishing, bowling, solving jigsaw puzzles, and tending to his yard. These interests reflected his deep appreciation for the outdoors and quiet moments spent with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Roy Delbert Thompson and Marian Hughes Thompson. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Betty C.S. Thompson, and his stepson, Stuart Carter Saunders, who will dearly miss his warmth and steadfast presence.

A graveside service to honor Ron’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2026, at Windsor Cemetery, with Rev. Dr. T.A. Powell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Windsor Baptist Church, Windsor, Virginia, as a tribute to Ron’s memory.

Ronald Albert Thompson will be remembered as a devoted husband, a skilled craftsman, and a man who cherished the simple joys of life. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and perseverance that will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.
