Roger L. Winsor, Sr., 72, died April 16, 2006 from complications associated with lung cancer. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran, and retired in 1995 from his position as Superintendent for Community Electric in Windsor, VA. Roger was a proud member of Virginia Beach Masonic Lodge # 274, Norfolk Scottish Rite Bodies, and Khedive Temple in Norfolk. He was also a member of Moose Lodge #141 and a former member of the Suffolk Shrine.

He leaves behind to cherish the memory of his life, his loving wife of 26 years, Shirley Mae Winsor of Suffolk, son Roger L. Winsor, Jr. of Bellevue, NE, brother Gerald L. Winsor of Ransom, IL, children through marriage Patti Philipps and husband Robert of Virginia Beach, VA, Tom Nyberg and wife Cindy, Vicki Nyberg, and Scott Nyberg, all of Chesapeake, VA, and three grandchildren, Andrew Normand, Amanda Philipps, and Daniel Nyberg. He was deeply loved by all and will be greatly missed. He was the son of the late June Pinson Winsor and Walter Lee Winsor and predeceased by daughter Cheryl Winsor.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 20, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home in Suffolk, VA. Clergy Officiating will be Rev. Roger D. Johnson. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park in Virginia Beach immediately following the funeral service. The family will receive friends and family Wednesday from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
