Rodger Daniel Latta, 51, passed away June 17, 2010 after a courageous 33-year battle with diabetes. He was born in Roxboro, N.C., the son of Sylvia A. Latta and the late James B. Latta. Dan was a self- employed caterer and decorator as well as a member of the Village Christian Fellowship church. He also served as a national advocate for dialysis patients and was an active community volunteer.

Dan is survived by his mother, Sylvia Latta; sister, Charlene and her husband Dave Weddle; sister, Becky and her husband Freeman Broadwell III of Lookout Mountain, Ga.; brother, Donald and his wife Christie of Arequipa, Peru; brother, Ben and his wife Tori; 13 nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at Dan's church, Village Christian Fellowship, 3013 Bridge Road, Suffolk, on Tuesday, June 22, at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements are being handled by Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.
