Robert Calvin Vaughan, Sr., 75, passed away April 13, 2021.  He was born in Murfreesboro, NC the son of the late Thomas McGlohn Vaughan and Margaret Marie Byrd Roberts.  He was predeceased by his sister, Brenda Watley.  Robert retired after 23 years as a First Sergeant in the United States Army, where he served during Vietnam.  He later went on to work and retired after 20 years as a Sergeant for the Suffolk Sheriff's Department.  Robert was a member of the VFW Post #2582, Fraternal Order of the Police, and the American Legion #88.

Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janice Fay Dutton Vaughan; daughter, Darla C. Vaughan; son, Robert C. Vaughan, Jr.; grandchildren, Hunter Eure, Garrett Eure, Colleen Vaughan (Craig); great grandchild, Kyla; brothers, James Vaughan, Melton Vaughan (Renee); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.  Friends may join the family Monday night for a time of visitation from 6-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
