Robert Lee Turner, 72, of Prince George (Petersburg), VA passed away July 2, 2015 after a long struggle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was born in Suffolk, VA to the late William Robert Turner and Alice Boyce Turner. Robert was predeceased by his aunt Ila Jernigan and his uncle Otis Boyce. He is an Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War. Robert is a retired educator with the Petersburg School System where he was a dedicated employee only missing ten days during forty years of employment.
Robert is survived by his sister, Shirley Turner Humphrey; nieces, Joyce Byrd and husband Harold, Carolyn Sue Humphrey, Alice Payne and husband Lee; nephews, Eddie Humphrey and wife Lucille, William Humphrey; aunt, Edith B. Wilkins; great nieces, Jennifer Lowe, Jamie Leigh Hogge; great nephews, Eddie Humphrey, Jr., Walter Payne, Jr., Henry Byrd; and several great great nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held Monday, July 6, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Tim Rawls officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-3 pm at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA, 23434.
