Robert Allan Rowland, Sr., 71, passed away December 3, 2018.  He was born in Norfolk, VA the son of the late Clyde Vince Rowland, Sr. and Mildred Viola Hodge Rowland.  Robert was predeceased by his sister, Ann Taylor Rowland.  He retired as a shipfitter from Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

Robert is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jo Anne Dye Rowland; sons, Richard Rowland (Cindy), Robert A. Rowland, Jr.; step-sons, Gary Dye (Rose), and Thomas Dye (Vicky); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Clyde "Buddy" Rowland, Jr. (Jody); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Nansemond Suffolk Cemetery.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Wednesday night from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
