Robert Lee "Root" "Bully" Turner was born in Suffolk, VA on August 21, 1940 to the late Pearl and Rosser Turner. God reached out and took his hand and carried him home on January 26, 2024. He is also predeceased by his brothers, Michael and Perry Turner.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Patricia Rideout; daughter, Pam Yeager; grandchildren, Leslie Forrester (Carson), Morgan Yeager, and D.J. Yeager (Victoria); great grandchildren, Logan Powell, Bella Forrester, and Jovie Yeager; sister, Rose Jory (Harrell); brother, Joel Turner (Judy); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was a graduate of Suffolk High School and remained a resident of Suffolk for most of his life. He was a member of Suffolk Elks Lodge #685. He was an avid Washington Redskins and Virginia Tech Hokies fan. He loved tailgating with good friends and cold beer. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and attended many events with his friends. Robert was a land surveyor and landscaper until his retirement. He loved working outdoors and took pride in his beautiful yards.

Robert's funeral service will be 1:30 pm, Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Clyde Alderman officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley, VA. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 pm, on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be sent to the American Heart Association.
