Robert Jesse Ritter, 68, died March 28, 2006. He was a native of Southampton County, Virginia. He retired from Franklin Equipment Company as a truck driver. He was the son of the late Robert Grover Ritter and Jessie Josephine Faison Ritter and was also predeceased by his son, Ricky Allen Ritter. He is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Deborah Ritter Cagle and Danielle R. and Todd Oger, all of Suffolk; sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen L. and Kimberly Ritter, Jesse H. and Sarina Ritter, all of Suffolk, James P. and Julia Felts of Chesapeake; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Ritter of Chesapeake; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; stepmother, Josephine P. Ritter; former wife, Alice Cornett Bartlett of Smithfield; sisters, Ellen Lassiter and Jean Saunders; brothers, Jack Wayne Blankenship, Frank M. Ritter, David Ritter and Kenny Ritter. A funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael D. Halley. Friends may join the family Thursday at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. and other times at the residence. Interment will be in Ivor Cemetery.
