Robert Dean "Bob" Putman, 85, of Suffolk, VA went home to be with his Lord and Savior September 29, 2017. He was born in Toledo, OH to the late Peter and Iva Putman. Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean War.  He retired after over 16 years as warehouse manager at Nansemond Cold Storage. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church, the Bob Herring Sunday school class, and American Legion #57 for 26 years.

Bob is survived by his wife of 16 years, Doris Ellis Putman; daughters, Deborah Lynne Pierce (Garry) of OH, Amy Jean Stocchi (Franco) of OH; son, Terence Robert Putman (Joyce) of WI; stepchildren, Darlene Parr (John), Thomas Heffington (LouAnn), and Paula Warner (David); grandchildren, Ronald Schell (Leesa), Ryan Schell (Stacy), Robin Tucker (Del), Teri Leigh Randall (Tom), Anna  Stocchi, Emma Stocchi, and Robert Stocchi; step grandchildren, Michella Newton (Joseph), Nicholas Parr (Jessica), Katherine Martin (Ryan), Michael Heffington (Rebekah), Zachary Warner (Katie), Timothy Warner (Amanda), Andrea Warner, and Wesley Warner; 7 great grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren; sisters, Shelby Jean Cole, Sharon Machinski (Ronald); brother, Harold Eugene "Jerry" Putman; numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Tim Rawls and Rev. David Edgell officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
