Robert "Bob" Michael Barry, 79, passed away July 7, 2025.  Bob was born in Boston, MA the son of the late Ret. Capt. Walter Joseph Barry and Mary Theresa McDonald Barry.  He was a retired high-pressure welder at Norfolk Naval Shipyard.  Bob was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam and attended Elevate Church.  He was a member of Suffolk Elks Lodge #685, American Legion Norman R. Matthews Post #57, Suffolk, VA, and the Franklin Bronco Rod and Gun Club. Bob was a big outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, playing cards, and shooting pool.

Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorthy Ann Odom Barry; sons, Robert Michael Barry II (Angie), and Jason Kristian Barry (Jennifer); grandchildren, Blake, Brooke, Hannah, Holden, Hayes, and Brentlee; brothers, Ret. Capt. Thomas A. Barry (Carole), Honorable William P. Barry (Mary Beth), and Kevin Barry (Christie); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service with military honors will be held Friday, July 11, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434 with Rev. Ruffin Alphin officiating. A private inurnment will be held at Albert G. Horton, Jr., Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com .
