Robert Alfred Gingras, 92, of Portsmouth, VA passed away on January 10, 2013. A native of Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Arthur and Georgiana Larose Gingras. He was also predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Emily Leigh Gingras, a sister, Annette Gingras and a brother, William Gingras. Robert served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. Later he retired as an owner of Midcity Laundry Mat and a member of Suffolk Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, with Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating. Friends may join the family prior to the service on Wednesday from 12:00 – 12:45 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home for visitation.
